The Well Symbol, or Akas zīme, is an ancient Latvian sign linked to depth, knowledge, and the flow of hidden energies. In folklore, it represents the source of life and wisdom, connecting the earthly world with the spiritual. Traditionally woven into fabrics and belts, it served as a protective emblem, safeguarding the wearer and guiding them toward clarity, intuition, and inner strength.

About the Artist:
The artist is inspired by traditional Latvian and historical symbols and fell in love with weaving long ago. Fifteen years ago, her father built wooden looms by hand so she could weave from home as well. All of her pieces are woven from wool and linen.
