The Fire Cross, or Ugunskrusts, is an ancient Latvian symbol representing the eternal cycle of life, the sun’s energy, and protection from misfortune. Traditionally woven into belts and fabrics, it served as a guardian emblem of strength, balance, and harmony in Latvian folklore and craftsmanship.

About the Artist
The artist is inspired by traditional Latvian and historical symbols and fell in love with weaving long ago. Fifteen years ago, her father built wooden looms by hand so she could weave from home as well. All of her pieces are woven from wool and linen.

This product is made in Latvia. The shipment from Latvia is currently more expensive. New customs regulations have made shipping to the USA from Latvia more difficult. We hope things will get better soon.
